UW Dermatology Residency Alumni Reunite
An Evening of Good Company

UW Department of Dermatology alums, residents, and residency program leadership gathered at the Mountaineering Club atop the Graduate Hotel earlier this month to reconnect and celebrate their time in the program. Graduates from the class of 1968 through last year attended, sipped “skin & tonics”, and tested their Bolognia textbook strength.

Dr. Jay Vary, Associate Professor, Director of Clinical Operations and UW Dermatology fellow alum, constructed a barbell that held 70 lbs. of dermatology textbooks. Alums channeled their textbook-carrying days on Dr. Vary's Bolognia barbell!
Dr. Markus Boos, PhD, Professor and Residency Program Director, emphasized how special it was to bring together so many alums spanning so many years.
The UW Department of Dermatology graduated its first class of residents in 1966. Since then, the program has produced more than 150 alums who now practice in 24 states. Our residents have gone on to open their own private dermatology practices, pursue nationally competitive fellowships, and take on academic hospital leadership positions.
